In November 2008, there was mail out of 4000 "Homosexuality and the Real Hope - A Catholic Perspective" booklets and 3000 bookmarks with the verse from John 8: 31 - 32 ("If you live accoridng to my teaching, you are truly my disciples; then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free") to every Catholic parish in Victoria.
The booklet briefly answers some common questions regarding same-sex attraction from the Catholic Church's point of view. Some of these questions include: Is same-sex attraction determined before birth? If same-sex attraction is not genetically determined, what is the cause? Can it be prevented?
